As long as the concentration of rubbing alcohol is maintained it can be used to clean electronic devices. The 70% IPA concentration is sufficient enough to remove dust, dirt and other common contaminants. Make sure to choose reputed brands that carry value on quality as the risk of low quality or lesser concentrations will come to light when the device poses malfunctioning. When it comes to cleaning chips, PCB, semiconductors or any electronic boards using rubbing alcohol is a big NO.
